Poor Pit Bull dog mix living in terrible conditions gets rescued on the brick of death
Scout, a 2-year-old Pit Bull mix, weighed only 29 pounds when found by Rescue Dogs Rock NYC organization. He was on the brick of death!
When Scout was found by the Rescue dogs Rock NYC organization, he was in a horrible situation: he weighted only 29 pounds and he was all covered up in his own excrement.
This 2 year old pit bull mix was barely standing up and walk. He was on the brick of death!
When he tried to move, he fell on the floor, hurting his jaw.
His skinny body was full of ulcers, sores, and burns.
It was hard not to cry just looking at him. It was all skin and bones.
He required urgent care and medical attention and thanks to the staff of the shelter, Scout made great steps in his recovery.
He gained at least five pounds within his first week of being there and his skin condition was clearly improving.
Scout was able to get around on his own too, and his soft fur was growing back.
Despite being abused by humans, Scout is an incredibly sweet, and loving guy. He is covering with kisses everyone that is involved in his care, showing his appreciation.
Thanks to the fact that his story became viral through social media, helped the shelter to raise enough money to continue caring for this adorable pup until he is healthy enough to be ready for adoption.
Whoever treated this beautiful dog this way, clearly doesn’t have a heart! How can anyone be so cruel?
Thankfully, Scout has now a second chance in life and hopefully, he will find a forever loving home. He clearly needs some spoiling.

UPS Driver adopts a huge Pit Bull on her route after his owner passes away! Heartwarming story!
A kind-hearted UPS Diver fostered and later on adopted an enormous friendly pit bull dog that she met along her working route after his owner passed away
Katie Newhouser is a UPS driver in Rancho Cucamonga, California so every time she was passing next to a condo complex, a huge pit bull named Leo would greet her and jump in her truck.
“I met Leo and his mom Tina on my route – they lived in a condo complex that I deliver to,” said Katie. “He would always bark for her to let him come down to the truck to see me. He would hop into my truck and make himself at home!”
“I saw Tina walking Leo and stopped to pet him,” Newhouser said. “That’s how I started talking to Tina. That’s actually how I’ve started talking to most of my customers. If they’ve got a dog, I’m stopping.”
Everything was just fine, until about a year ago. Katie had gone on vacation, and when she came back she noticed Tina’s son, Canon, leaving the complex with furniture in the back of his truck. She thought they were moving out, but it was quite a shock to discover that the woman had died.
She talked to her son and offered him to take care of Leo the pit bull until he comes back from Marine training.
But during the time he stayed at her place, the big goofball fell in love with the family’s other dog, Moose the lab mix. They bonded so well, that they were inseparable. So she instantly decided to adopt him.
“I knew he had nowhere to go, and I didn’t want him to end up in a shelter, and with somebody who was not going to be good for him.”
“He’s a big baby. He’s one of the most gentle dogs I have ever met”
“He’s big and he looks like he could be mean, but if you look at his eyes, you can just tell that he’s just the sweetest dog.”
Until adopting Leo, she did not realize how many negative stereotypes about Pit Bulls exist. Now, she happily advocates for them by telling people how wonderful Leo is, and how much personality he has.
Maya the Pit Bull dog saves her owner from rapist! Named Hero Dog of the Year
A 5-year-old pit bull mix named Maya has been honored by the Animal Miracle Foundation with the Hero Dog of the Year award, for scaring away owner’s attacker
A pit bull mix that scared away a San Jose woman’s attacker has been honored by the Animal Miracle Foundation with the Hero Dog of 2008 award.
Angela Marcelino adopted Maya from Humane Society Silicon Valley when she was only a puppy, 3 months old. She practically saved her life, and now, Maya did the same in return!
As part of the award for Maya, Marcelino described what happened the morning her dog became a hero:
“I opened my front door and was about to walk inside when I saw someone’s shadow out of the corner of my eye,” she wrote. “I turned my head just as a man pushed me into my house. I screamed as loud as I could, but the man had slammed the door shut behind him.
“‘Shut up’ were the only words he said to me. He was choking me with one hand. I was able to scream one last time. After I did, his grip tightened around my neck. That is when I saw a white streak run in from the other room. His grip was so tight that I could only gurgle the words ‘Maya, get him.’ He still had a grip on my throat, as his other hand was busy trying to fight off my angry dog.
“I don’t know how, but I managed to get on my feet. His attention turned away from Maya for a second so that he could push my front door open and she followed. At that point, I grabbed him in the groin as hard as I could. He doubled over and released the grip around my neck. I pushed him away and grabbed Maya by the collar. I like to think, at that moment, he told himself he had picked the wrong woman to mess with. He looked at me one last time, only for a second, and then simply walked away.”
Later on, a drop of blood above Maya’s right eye was tested for DNA by investigators, which led to the arrest of the attacker. Without Maya’s help, the rapist may have never been caught!
Not only that she saved her owner from what it could of been a vicious sexual attack, but also helped to catch the bad guy! She is the proof that pit bulls can be heroes, just like any other dogs!
